Daniel Howard Davis, age 76, of Canton, died at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday June 27, 2009, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on November 8, 1932, to Howard and Florence (Allen) Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Ardis Graves, Nellie Kate Davis, and ten half-brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Sally (Dickinson) Davis, Daughter; Janeen Lutz, son; Daniel H. (Debra) Davis, Jr., grandson; Nicholas M. (Nicole) Baker, granddaughter Julianna Lutz, step-grandson; Joshua Lutz, great granddaughter Macy Lynn Baker, and sister; Ruth Fox. Dan was a 1950 graduate of McKinley High School, and served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1954 in the Korean Conflict. He attended Kent State University and Akron University. He held a real estate license with Dohner Realty, Akron. He was a retired transport driver for Alfred Nickles Bakery, a member of Teamsters Local 92, and Transplant Recipients International Organization. Friends may call Monday, 5 to 7 PM in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW and 8:30 to 9 AM on Tuesday with a brief funeral service at 9 AM, followed by burial in North Lawn Cemetery. A memorial Service will he held at 11 AM in St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Barbara Bond officiating.
