Dan C. Petty, age 81, of Canton died Wednesday morning in his residence after an extended illness. Born in Akron, OH to the late James and Cleo (Wilkinson) Petty he attended North High School, the University of Akron and Butler University. Dan was a Navy Veteran of WW II and was retired from sales with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., he also retired from the Acme Stores. Dan was a member of Oakwood Country Club and the North Canton Elk's Lodge # 2029. Survivors include his wife of 33 years: Sandra Petty of the residence. Two step daughters: Wendy Curtis of Acushnet, MA and Donna Collins of New Haven, CT. Sister: Nancy Temes and a brother James Petty. A memorial mass will be Saturday 1:00 P.M. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Bradford Helman as officiant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Michael Church 3430 St. Michael Dr. N.W. Canton, OH 44718.
