Dale R. Larson Sr., age 75, of North Canton, left for his journey on Tuesday June 23, 2009 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Massillon, Ohio on November 27, 1933 to the late Raymond and Merle (Bosler) Larson, and lived in Brewster most of his life. He served in the Army and was a lifetime member of Navarre VFW Post # 5047. Dale worked for Nickel Plate Railroad, The City of Brewster Street Dept., Stark County Sheriff's Dept., and Weaver Detective Agency. A tragic truck accident left him totally disabled. However, Dale was still able to enjoy the sweeter things of life: including his family, his sweets and mowing his lawn. He is survived by his caring wife of 36 years Donna (Heisler); children Bobby Larson, Dale Jr. "Rusty" Larson both of Brewster, Catherine (Wendell) Coblentz of Uniontown, Shanet (Bill Lawson) Smeyres of Dundee, Joe (Terry) Zugcic of Navarre; 9 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Betty Winkhart of North Canton, Norma (Joe) Manos of Massillon; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brother Harold and sister Lucille Schrickel. A memorial service will be held Saturday 11 AM at Advent Lutheran Church, 1516 Edison St., Uniontown, with Pastor Bob Cheney officiating. The family will receive friends and a luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall of the church following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or to Aultman Hospice.
