Crete W. Whitmer, age 92, of Canton, died Monday morning in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. A life resident of Canton Crete retired from Diebold, Inc. where he was a foreman. He was a member of First Christian Church, formerly served on the Perry Township Zoning Board and was a Republican Precinct Committeeman. Preceded in death by a son: Jack in 1990 and a sister Yvonne Corsello, he is survived by his wife of 62 years: Jean V. (Streeby) Whitmer. Daughter: Mrs. Ernest (Cindy) Hummer of N. Canton. Two grandchildren: Mrs. Tavis (Jennifer) Campbell of Uniontown and Andrew Hummer and his fiancé Lindsay Keller of Copley, OH. A private service for the family will be on Thursday wit Rev. Manley Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W.
