Cora Caroline (Stermer) Oswald, age 90, of Hartville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 28, 2010 at St. Joseph's Assisted Care Facility just two days before her 91st birthday. She was born in Marlboro Township on March 30, 1919 to the late John and Nettie (Hershberger) Fausnight. Cora was a long time member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren. She had a love of flowers her whole life, working for Symes and Sons Florist until she was 86 years old, and decorating the alter at the church with her home grown flowers. Preceded in death by her husband George Stermer in 1945 and husband Walter D. Oswald in 2006; brother William Fausnight and sister Bertha Haswell. She is survived by her children Dale (Nancy) Stermer of Canton, Carol Stermer (Richard) McGirr of AZ, Judy (Gene) Ringer of Canton, Nancy McKenzie of NC, James (Rebecca) Oswald of KY; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home Hartville and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday 10-11 AM. Funeral services are Wednesday 11 AM in the Hartville Church of the Brethren with Pastor Tom Michaels officiating. Final resting place is East Nimishillen Church Cemetery.
