June 18, 1934 – December 25, 2018
Chris J. Neading, Jr., age 84, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018. He was born in Canton to the late Chris and Lottie (Bowman) Neading. Chris was a graduate of Timken Vocational High school, a lifelong auto mechanic, and a Volunteer Firefighter for over 47 years serving from May 1962 to May 2009 for the Edgefield/Plain Township Fire Department. He enjoyed working on cars, was an avid NASCAR and Ohio State fan. Chris loved his grandchildren, attending all their sport events and birthday parties. He also enjoyed serving his community and gardening. In addition to his parents Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara in October 2018; brother, Robert Neading and brother-in-law, Don Hartzell. He is survived by one daughter and three sons, Nancy Neading-Malsky and Kenny, Chris "C.J." (Jeannie) Neading, Mark (Tanya) Neading, and Richard (Joyce) Neading; dear family friend and son, Jack(Donna) Jackson; ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, T. J. Malsky, Kennan Malsky, Ryan (fiancée Kristin Thomson) Neading, Tania (Jeremy) Klempner, and their son, Aidan, Joy (Michael) Neading-Rucker, and their children, Evelyn and Maxwell, Alison (Dan) Michael, and their sons, Danny and Everett, Brianna Grim, Chris John (Lindsey) Neading, and their children, Leah, Chloe, Carter, and Libby, Andrew (Angela) Neading, and their children, Lily, Cooper, and Lucy, Ann Marie Neading and her daughter, Adrianna; sister, Mary Hartzell; brother, Donald (Jacquie) Neading; sister-in-law, Carolyn Neading; many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5th in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W. with Rev. Michael Millet officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, January 4th from 5-8:00 p.m. A Last Alarm service will be held Friday at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: The Stark County Fire Department Rehab Unit, P.O.
