Obituary

Charlotte Annie Blaemire Richards, of Boardman OH, is now reunited with her husband, mother, and son. She passed peacefully at The HomeStead at Gentlebrook in Hartville, OH on October 27th, 2024. She was born February 10, 1942, in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of Christina S. Blaemire. Charlotte was a proud Christian and an active member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Charlotte was a 1960 graduate of South High School where she was a majorette and active in many clubs. She continued to be involved and participate in her class reunions. Charlotte's education after High School led her to work as a phlebotomist at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. In 1961 Charlotte married the love of her life, Dr. Richard S. Richards. They, together, became a team and worked together to form a family and continue to work together at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Charlotte became an active member of the St. Elizabeth's Medical Auxiliary. At the same time, they began creating their family which evolved into four wonderful children. Charlotte was most proud of being a loving and devoted wife and mother to their four children. She supported them in their growing years and participated in many programs they were involved with the Boardman Schools, as well as other community involvement. Outside of her family, she was always challenging herself to learn new talents. Her adventures included obtaining a pilot's license, riding a motorcycle with her husband, and becoming a self- taught banjo player. Traveling on the "Big Band" Cruise Ship with her husband was a highlight in her life and many trips to Las Vegas as well. Charlotte and her husband also devoted their time working the voting polls for many years at the Boardman Precinct. Charlotte's second love in life was knitting. Her mastery of both hand and machine knitting led her to teach her techniques to knitting guilds as far as Las Vegas. Charlotte is survived by her sister, Christine D Spencer, daughter, Chrissie Ann (Dr.Thomas) Watson, and her two sons, Dr. Paul (Lori Murray) Richards, and Dr. Richard (Rosanne Toti) Richards. She cherished being a grandmother to Adam (Sarah Evans), Stephen, and Christopher Watson; Lauren and Justin Richards; Maria and John Richards. She also became a great-grandmother to Clara James Watson in 2023. She was preceded in death by her mother Christina S. Blaemire, her husband who passed away in September 2015, her son Stephen John Richards, and a sister Nancy Jicha. Charlotte lived a very full life and will be greatly missed by those who loved her and whose lives she touched. Her family is eternally grateful for the wonderful care she received at The HomeStead at Gentlebrook and the amazing staff with Absolute Hospice. Her love, kindness, and spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
