Charles E. Williams, Sr., age 87, of North Canton, passed away Saturday morning in the St. Luke Lutheran Community. He was born November 30, 1922 in Canton, son to the late Teddy E. and Helen R. (Hall) Williams. He was a graduate of McKinley High School and proudly served our country in the United States Army during War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre and Occupation of Korea. Charles was a retired Administrator for Stark County Sanitary Engineers; was involved in insurance and served as a Police Officer for both Canton and North Canton. Charles also devoted twenty years to the Plain Township Zoning Board. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being with his family. His memberships include member and past Master of Canton Lodge #60 F & AM, Scottish Rite, York Rite Bodies and John Knox Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by brothers; Robert D. Althouse, Donald T. Williams and Sister; Gladys M. Liber. Survivors include his wife Frances (Ballos) Williams to whom he would have been married 67 years July 18th. Sons; Charles E. (Ellen) Williams, Jr., Gerald L. (Veronica) Williams all of Cincinnati and James S. Williams of North Canton. Grandsons; Charles E. III, Erik L. and Marc E. Williams and two great-grandsons. Sister-in-law, Ruth Williams of Dover and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 11 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W. with Rev. Douglas A. Patton officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 P.M. on Tuesday.
