Obituary

Charles Francis Taylor, age 69 of Perry Township, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 after an extended illness. Born in Canton to the late Carl and Nancy (Nye) Taylor. Chuck worked for the Diebold Corp. for 10 years, the Gas House, was the director of Environmental Services at the Hanover House for over 25 years; he was associated with Spiker-Foster-Shriver, Welch-Sekeres and Lamiell Funeral Homes for a total of 30 years. Chuck was the first class graduate of Perry Twp. Police Citizen's Academy, a member of the Perry Twp. Levy Police Dept. committee and president of the Perry Twp. History Club for 6 years. He was on the committee for restoring the One Room School House and he spent 14 years working with the Pro Football HOF as facilitator of the HOF Parade, security, fireworks, concert and the enshrinement dinner. He was also a member of the St. Joseph's Men and Boy's Choir for a number of years. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Catherine "Cat" of the home, Daughter: Trisha (Douglas) Ingram of Canton, 5 grandchildren: Chawn "CJ" Corrin Jr. and Charlie Corrin, Timothy, Thomas and Hannah Heldreth. Brothers: Carl (Rose) Taylor, Kenneth Capes Jr. and Clifford (Diane) Morgan. Sisters: Pam Richards, Cindy (Tom) Johnson and Lori (Dave) Seaburn. Brother-in-law, Tim (Dee) Haiber, several nieces and nephews and his trusty dog Smokey. Special friends Bob and Eddie McFadden also survive. Chuck will be remembered most for his undying devotion to his wife, daughter, grand-daughter and grandsons, compassion and generosity to those in need, being the "mayor" of the neighborhood, the ability to find humor in any situation, and loving his family and friends unconditionally. Chuck had the gift of gab and had never met a stranger. He touched many hearts. The family would like to thank the North Canton Medical Foundation Cancer Center for their care and support, as well as the numerous family and friends by his side. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Rev. Rusty Wills and Rev. Lance Lindenburger. Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Stark County 5100 Peach St. NE, Louisville, OH 44641 and to the Perry Township History Club P.O.
