Charles O. Stone, of Colfax California, died March 18, 2012. He was born November 23, 1917 to Oscar H and Gladys (Barker) Stone in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was employed at the Standard Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio for over 30 years as a Plant Layout Engineer. After moving from Dayton to Delaware, Ohio, he became a greeter at the Marysville and Delaware WalMart stores for sixteen years, retiring at age eighty-nine. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge in Delaware. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Dayton Council, Marion Commandery and Chapter. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over forty years, swerving as Worthy Patron in 1976 and 1977 at the Tippecanoe Chapter #307 in Tipp City, Ohio, and again in 1999 at the George L. Behrens Chapter #504 in Delaware, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his daughter, the Rev. Dr. Judith (Stone) Olin, infant great-grandson, Jordan , and infant great-granddaughter, Carson Rae, brothers, Frederick and Woodrow Stone, He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Gauldin), son, Charles D. Stone (Bertha), daughter, Deborah S. Schmidt (Dan), sister Shirley Hill (Lowell), 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild also survive. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in Green Valley United Methodist Church 620 E. Turkey Foot Rd. Akron, OH. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton, OH. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 32 degree Masonic Learning Centers for Children 3720 W. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43235 or the Alzheimer's Foundation 4815 Munson St., N.W. Canton, OH 44718.
