Catherine L. (Kay) Kamerer, age 80, of Hartville, passed away Monday morning April 12, 2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Cairo, Ohio to the late George and Ethel Fryberger and was a 1947 graduate of Hartville High School. Then on October 20, 1947, she married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Owen Kamerer. A member of Advent Lutheran Church, she sang in the church choir and was active in various groups, especially enjoying quilting for Lutheran World Relief. Kay was active in the Hartville Fireman's Auxiliary. With her family and friends, Kay enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and traveling and camping throughout the United States. Preceded in death by infant son and one brother, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, Owen; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Susan Kamerer and Richard and Mary Kamerer all of Hartville; grandchildren Angela (Don) Harbaugh, Mike Kamerer, Natalie (Jason) Steele, Jennie (Randy) Gross, Julie (Mike) Jones, Danny (Sara) Kamerer, Tommy (Jessi) Kamerer; great-grandchildren David, Alec, Emily, Jake, Connor, Abbie, Joey, Austin, Dylan, Abbi; and many other relatives and friends. To celebrate Kay's Life a memorial service will be held Wednesday 7 PM at Advent Lutheran Church in Uniontown with Pastor Bob Cheyney officiating. Friends may call Wednesday at the church 5-6:45 PM.
