(Virginia) Catherine Becker, age 98, of Canton. Born November 21, 1915 in Dayton, VA to the late David and Stella Click. The family moved to Canton in 1923. Catherine was a 1933 graduate of McKinley High School, and a 1941 graduate of Kent State University, She was an elementary teacher, retiring in 1973, having taught for 26 years at Fairmont, Hartford, and Avondale Schools. Catherine was a member of Dueber United Methodist Church, Stark County and Ohio Retired Teachers Assoc, Trirosis, and AARP #4121. In addition to her parents Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Elwyn Becker on April 27, 2002, also preceded by grandson Eric, and sister: Eileen. Survivors include son: Larry Becker of Canton. Grandchildren: Natalie and Nicole. Great grandchildren: Joey, Tanner, Raul and Breanna. Sisters: Elva Cooper of N. Canton and Erma Evans of Canton also survive. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. with Dr. Chester Harris officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
