Carolyn Hotchkiss Thompson, age 93, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Carolyn was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania to the late Bruce and Clara (Hofmann) Hotchkiss. She was employed by the Glidden Co. from 1941 to 1943 and then NY Central Railway from 1944 to 1945. Carolyn became a full time homemaker when she married John Morgan Thompson. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, enjoyed sewing, ceramics, knitting and was an excellent cook. Carolyn also had a love for baseball and dogs. In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2008; brother, Robert Hotchkiss; and sister, Jeannette Frost. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gillman and special friend Doug Koontz; son, Jack (Patricia) Thompson; grandchildren, Kevin Gillman, John Thompson; and several nieces. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Lobos officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
