Carole M. Gross "Sophie Grandma", age 69, of Canton, died Saturday morning in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Canton to the late Chester & Esther (Siber) Baum she had resided a large portion of her life in Canton. A 1960 graduate of East Canton High School, she was retired Office Manager from the Stark Development Board. Carole was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include two daughters: Shelley Hoesl of Cincinnati and Cindy (Tim) Novak of N. Canton. Son: Erik (Sandy) Gross of Canton. Five grandchildren: Erika Gross, Devon & Cassie Hoesl and Nicole & Heather Novak. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step father: James Fisher. Funeral service will be Wednesday 11:00 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W.
