Dr. Carlos Rozenbom, age 67, of Canton, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at his home after a very brave and stoic fight with cancer. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 17, 1941 to the late Rosa and Moises Rozenbom, he is preceded in death by his beloved son, Pablo Javier in 2000, and by brother Jaime Rozenbom, also of Argentina. He is survived by his wife Alicia T., children Ed, of Canton, Alex and wife, Irina Grafova, along with granddaughter Anna Sophia of Edison, NJ, sister-in-law Beatriz Rozenbom, niece Marisa and nephew Daniel, also of Argentina. He graduated medical school in Buenos Aries, Argentina, completed his internship at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and did his residency in Radiation Oncology at Tufts University in Boston, MA. He was an attending physician at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. In 1977 he moved to Canton to begin his private practice in his field at Aultman and Mercy hospitals. Later he was on staff at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was honored by the American Cancer Society for his contributions to his field. His patients had only praise for his competency and compassion as a physician. He was highly respected by all the members of the medical community. He was an outstanding husband and father, a very loyal friend, and an extraordinary person. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, especially by his faithful and loving wife, Alicia. Funeral services will take place Sunday at 10:30 AM in Temple Israel with Rabbi John Spitzer officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery on Monday at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, the Mazon Fund at Temple Israel, or the charity of your choice.
