Carl A. Carpinelli, age 83, of Canton, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 while wintering at his Lake Worth, Florida home. He was born on November 2, 1934 in Canton to Carl M. and Anne C. (Rich) Carpinelli. He was a 1953 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and attended Ohio University. He served his country in the Korean War for the US Army. Carl resided in Cleveland for many years and returned to Canton in 1988. For 25 years, Carl was a Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Personal Bailiff. After his retirement he and his sister purchased Lucia's Restaurant until his final retirement in 2007. He was an avid golfer in Ohio and Florida and loved following the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers. Carl cherished time with his grandchildren, Sunday family dinners, and spending time with all his family.
He is survived by the love of his life, Theresa with whom he would have celebrated 57 years on May 20, 2018. Daughter and son in law, Carla Louise (Brian) Ball of Canton; son, Michael A. (Julianne) Carpinelli of Canton; sister, Faith Anne Flickinger of Canton; grandchildren, Nicholas and Alyssa Carpinelli and Branden and Jessica Ball. The family would like to thank their dear friends of Florida, Kathy Cirino, Bob and Donna Frank, Joanne McKelvey, and Kathy Erbe. He was preceded in death by his Aunt Lucille Santelli and Uncle Felix Rich.
Calling hours will be Monday April 2 from 5 – 7:00 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday April 3 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father John Sheriden as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to the American Heart Association or charity of the donor's choice.
