Calvin L. "Cal" Moore age 80, of Montogmery, OH died Monday evening in St. Luke Lutheran Community after a brief illness. Born in Canton to the late William and Beulah (Staub) Moore he was an Army Veteran of WW II and the Korean War. Cal was a 1945 graduate of Timken High School, received his education degree from Akron University, his Master's degree from Kent State University and worked on his Doctorate degree at Indiana University. Cal excelled in baseball and basketball while attending Akron University and for his expertise in the sport was inducted into the Akron University Hall of Fame. He served as principal of Nordonia High School in Cleveland, OH and Deerpark High School in Cinncinnati, OH. In addition to his parents Cal was preceded in death by his loving wife Edith in 2007, and three brothers: Forrest, William and Sheridan Moore. A member of the United Methodist Church of the Savior of Montgomery, OH he is survived by 2 nieces and a nephew: Deborah Campbell of New Concord, OH, Pamela Pimpas of Canton and Terry Moore of North Canton, OH. Funeral service will be Friday 1:30 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. David deVries officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
