C. Richard Smith (Dick) age 94 of North Canton passed away Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Sanctuary Grande with family by his side. He was born June 6, 1931, in Canton to C. Wesley and Lois (Masters) Smith.  Dick was a graduate of Lehman High School and Mt. Union College where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He later served on the Mt. Union Board of Trustees and sponsored the C. Richard Smith Business Lecture Series.

Dick was the Owner and President of Canton City Blueprint, Inc. In this role he was a mentor to his staff and gave high school and college students opportunities to learn about business and leadership responsibilities in a positive business environment. He also served on numerous industry boards and was known as an innovator in local and national business communities.

As an active member of the community Dick was past President of the Canton Rotary, BPOE Elks Lodge 68, Pegasus Farm Equestrian Center, Oakwood Booster Club and numerous other organizations.

As a 50 year member of Congress Lake Country Club, Dick loved to spend time sailing on the lake, playing golf, and getting in lots of tennis too. He later joined Glenmoor Country Club.

Dick loved to travel, and he visited over 50 countries. He also thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of his home in Hilton Head, South Carolina with his wife Pat.

Dick was a warm and loving person who was a friend to everyone He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren loved their one on one time with him. Dick and Pat had such good times together whether it was traveling or spending time with family and friends

Survivors include his wife, Pat; daughters, Michael Flickinger, Tracie Tate (Paul), Lori Reynolds (John), Kathy Smith (Doug); sister Jeanne Walter; grandchildren, Danielle Flickinger, Craig "CJ" Flickinger (Danielle Muckley), Britanie Flickinger, Alex Tarnoczi, Tarrah Steible (Ethan), Sarah Reynolds, Zoe Smith, Jack Reynolds, Colin Smith and 6 great grandchildren.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Lakes 5944 Fulton Dr. NW, Canton 44718 with Pastor Brian George officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Church of the Lakes.
