Burton Vander, age 94, our beloved father, of Canton passed away September 11, 2021, at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born June 3, 1927, in Canton to Joseph and Tillie (Berkman) Vander and graduated from McKinley High School. He was in the Navy towards the end of World War II and owned and operated  United Specialty Company in Canton Ohio.

Burton is preceded in death by his beloved wife and caretaker of 64 years, Hyla; brother Edwin Vander. He is survived by his children Marc Vander (caregiver for four years) of Canton and Elissa (Jeffrey) Schatz of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandchildren Lindsey (Dea) Vander-Fertgus of Colorado, Seth Vander of Colorado, Scott (Jessica) Schatz of Missouri, and Lauren Schatz of California,; great grandson Cooper Schatz of Missouri.

Private graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM  at Canton Hebrew Cemetery with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating.

The family would like to thank the compassionate doctors, nurses, and aides at Home Court and Aultman Hospice.
