Brett Richard Perez, age 39 of Silver Lake, OH passed away on August 19, 2015 in the comfort of his parent's home. He was born on November 18, 1975 in Canton, Ohio and was a 1994 graduate of Chillicothe High School. In January 1996, he joined the Navy where he served with honor and distinction aboard the USS Carl Vinson during Operation Desert Fox in the Persian Gulf. After proudly serving there, he was a lead technician in the activation of the Combined Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base, Kingdom Qatar in 2002. He then moved into various positions within the Department of Defense. One such position was with the Joint Training and Simulation Center in Suffolk, VA. Brett participated as a communications engineer for a multitude of agencies supporting the DOD, NATO, and the Partnership for Peace. CT2 Perez then moved on to work with the National Geo-Spatial Intelligence Agency. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph and Augustina Perez, James and Ruth Fuller; and father Richard L. Perez. Brett is survived by his parents Janis (Fuller) and Brad Hough of Silver Lake; sister Stephanie (Brett) Raub, niece Tate and nephew Evan all of Streetsboro; step grandmother Margaret (Hough) Rehmel of Bloomington, IN., and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and wonderful friends. To celebrate his life a memorial will be held Saturday, August 29th. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - Noon with the service immediately following at The Chapel at Tinkers Creek, 9709 Page Rd., Streetsboro, OH 44241 with Pastor Dave McClellan officiating.
