Beverly J. Smith, age 85, of Canton, passed away Saturday evening. Born in Canton to the late Earl V. and Etha (Haase) Smith, she was a life resident. Beverly was a 1943 Lehman High School graduate. She was an educator for 42 years teaching at Canton McKinley and Lehman High schools, and was the librarian at Timken High School. Beverly was active playing tennis, softball, volleyball and bowling. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Muriel Schwenneker and nephew David Schwenneker. Beverly is survived by her sister Shirley (Richard) Frutig, a loving aunt to Marilyn, Trish, Richard, Carol, Tom, Linda, great niece; Lauren and great nephew Chris and Brian. A graveside service will be Wednesday, 3 p.m. in the chapel at North lawn Cemetery with Rev. Gary Smith officiating.
