Betty Jo Werstler age 52, of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 1, 2011 in her residence. Born Feb. 25, 1958 in Clarksburg, W.Va. to the late Lewis Edward and Margaret Ann (Crouser) Edgell. Betty graduated from Timken High School. She worked for the YWCA of Canton for over 14 years helping to house the homeless. She was a certified fair housing counselor and a certified specialist in housing credit management. Betty loved working with computers and was a certified IT technician. She also loved the arts, dabbling with painting and crafts. Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother survived by sons, Jeremiah Werstler and Perry Werstler Jr. both of Canton; grandchildren, Christian, Jaise, Tabitha and Jordan; sisters, Lois (Charles) Drake of Hartville, Deborah (Michael) Deel of Hartville; brothers, Matthew Edgell of Hartville, Andy (Loretta) Edgell of Akron. Preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at 12:30 p.m. in the YWCA of Canton, 231 Sixth St. NE, Canton, OH 44702, with Carol Duncan officiating.
