Betty Jean Mallernee entered the gates of Heaven on January 31, 2024, after a long illness. She was born in Hartville to the late Catherine and Ira Machamer as the 7th of 12 children. Following graduation from Marlboro High School, she became a WWII war bride when she married her soldier hero, William Mallernee in July of 1943.

She was a 68-year member of Grace Cathedral where she taught Sunday School. Betty's life could be summarized with these words…" She loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart, soul and mind."

Preceded in death by her husband, Bill, she is survived by sister June Dressel and sister-in-law Mary Lou Machamer, several nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service officiated by her grand nephew Rev. Chris Machamer with burial at Mt. Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Cathedral Outreach Program for "Bibles"
