Betty J. Lancia, age 71, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning April 25, 2008 at Tidewell Hospice Facility in Bradenton, FL. She was born on August 15, 1936 in Middlebranch, Ohio to the late Matt and Carmen (Montanero) Cavalier and graduated from Middlebranch High School. She met her husband, Paul, at her mother's restaurant in Middlebranch. They married in August 21, 1954 and resided in the Canton area. They founded and owned Pattern Crafts of Canton. Betty was an excellent craftsman with great ingenuity as well as being a housewife and mother. She was a very active member of High Mill Church of the Resurrection. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Chuck Bartee of Louisville; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Jill Lancia of Raleigh, NC; 7 grandchildren Brittany, Alexandra and Matae Bartee, Nicholas Lancia, Danielle (Tavner) Smith, Joseph Michael Lancia and Lexi (Josh) Jones; 2 great-grandchildren Averi Smith and Gabriel Jones; brothers John and Lindy Cavalier; sisters Violet DeGirolamo and Louise Mastri; and various nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services on Wednesday 11 AM-1 PM at the High Mill Church of the Resurrection, 1920 Schneider NE, Canton, OH 44721. Funeral services are in the church Wednesday 1 PM with Pastor Chuck Schumacher officiating. Final resting place is North Lawn Cemetery.
