Obituary

Betty Freed formerly of Canton, passed away at Park  Village of Dover on April 29. 2025, after an extended illness.

On June 20, 1954, she married Herbert Freed, the first cousin of her best friend Lillian Weinberger. Betty and Herb had 57 wonderful years together until his passing in 2012. Betty's dedication to Herb during his final years was unmatched. Their only son Nelson duplicated that dedication when Betty became ill a few years ago, moving her to Dover, Ohio to be near where he resides so he could be with her all the time during her final years. Betty turned 100 years of age last November and Nelson had a most memorable birthday celebration in her honor.

Betty will be deeply missed by her only son Nelson of New Philadelphia; her nephews Jeff (Sheryl) Levin of Maumee, Ohio, Marc Manheim of Canton, Dennis (Anita) Levin of Florida, and Lon (Diane) Levin of Youngstown, Ohio; niece Diane Mirman of Orlando, FL; Her first cousin Herb (Marilyn) Cohen of Florida as well as many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert, 8 siblings, 4 brothers Sam, Alfred, Edgar and David Levin and 4 sisters Norma Raffel, Blanche Gilbert, Marge Mirman and Sara Levin and cousin Lillian Weinberger.
