Betty A. Darrah, age 91, passed away Friday night, January 29, 2010 at The Inn at Belden Village. She was born in Greentown on August 26, 1918 to Earl and Ruth (Stark) Wolf and lived most of her adult life in Hartville. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating in 1939 from The Akron City Hospital School of Nursing. She and her husband, Robert (Bob) Darrah purchased The Pantry in Hartville in 1947, owning and operating the restaurant until 1968. Along with their partners, Betty and Bob then built and developed Seven Hills Golf Course. Betty returned to her nursing career as an Industrial Nurse at the Teledyne Monarch Rubber Company, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Greentown United Methodist Church. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tom Kirk-Conrad of Pinehurst, North Carolina; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Beverly Darrah of Hartville, Bruce and Nancy Darrah of Canton; five grandsons, Conor (Stacey), Sean, Andrew, Benjamin and William and a sister Joan McGraw of North Canton. The family wishes to thank the attentive staff at The Inn at Belden Village, who provided kindness and loving care to their mother this past year and a special thank-you to In -House Hospice of Akron. Funeral services will be Monday 1:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville with Pastor Phil Hoverstock officiating.
