Bernice M. Mills, age 94 went into the waiting arms of her resurrected Savior Jesus Christ on June 9, 2004. The daughter of Attorney Everett L. Mills and Nannie K. Mills, she was born in Canton, OH on December 28, 1912. After graduating from McKinley High School she worked in her family owned law office of Mills and Mills. Shortly there after, she received further training and was called into National Service by the United States Government, where she held a puissant station in the U.S. State Department in Washington, DC. Despite protracted travel, she lived and called Washington, DC her home for over 20 years. Her efforts and accomplishments while working in National Service, remain monumental. She retired to Tequesta, Florida in 1974 and later, to Jupiter, Florida where she enjoyed the last years of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Hilda Mills and Attorney Virgil F. Mills. She is survived by 2 nephews: Douglas V. Mills and Attorney Daniel M. Mills, their wives, Pamela J. Mills and Attorney Laura L. Mills, respectively. Funeral service will be on Saturday 10:30 A.M. in Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. with Rev. Wendy L. Bausman officiating. A private interment will follow Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
