Rebecca (Becky) Sue McCarty, age 58 of Akron passed away on Tuesday March 11, 2014. She was born March 2, 1956 in Canton to James and Thelma (Gregory) Baines. Becky is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Kevin McCarty, 2 two children, Christopher McCarty and Laura McFarland, and two grandchildren, Ember McCarty and Xander McFarland. Becky leaves a lifetime legacy of volunteering and serving her community. She was a member of the Ohio Jaycees and served as an officer for several years in the 1980s. She volunteered as a fire fighter and paramedic with the Hartville Fire Department from 1982 to 2006 and continued after as a CPR Instructor with the American Heart Association and First Aid Instructor with the National Safety Council. She was continuing her education studying to be a Social Worker. Becky found happiness in helping others and gave selflessly everyday to those around her. Following cremation, the family will receive friends Friday 4-6:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home, 504 W. Maple St Hartville, Ohio 44632.
