Barbara Ann Hisey, age 89, passed away on September 11, 2021 in Simpsonville, South Carolina.  Barbara graduated from Lehman High School in 1950.  She was a life-long member of First Christian Church in Canton, Ohio where she was a member of the Welshimer Sunday School Class.  She was also a teacher in the 6th grade Sunday School Class for many years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Doreen (Mobberley) Maynard and her son Daniel Hisey in 1988.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Rick) Shafer of South Carolina, and a son, Douglas Hisey of Canton, along with grandchildren, Jennifer Shafer, Christopher (Lauren), Emily, Samuel (Shelby), Maria Hisey; and great grand-daughter, Lily.  Also surviving is her brother, Ron (Retta) Maynard; nieces and nephew, Doreen, Denise, and Jerry.  Special in her life was Jane (Paul) Whitaker and their family, along with many special friends, and neighbors.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held FRIDAY 1:00 PM, JULY 15, at FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, HERITAGE HALL. In lieu of flowers, write a note to someone you love or someone who needs to hear a kind word from a friend.  That's what Barbara would be doing!
