Barbara A. Cook, age 76, of Canton, passed away the evening of Monday, October 12, 2009, after an extended illness. She enjoyed and loved life and brought happiness and comfort to all who knew her. May she have comfort now and join her husband and best friend, Harold L. Cook, who preceded her in death in 1982. Born July 7, 1933 in Wanego, WV, the oldest of 9 children, she is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Charles I. (Buddy) McKown. Surviving her loss are her two daughters, Christa Williston (Dick) and Carmen Pantelas (Gust), and her five grandchildren, Zackary and Clair Byrd, Ari, Alex and Cassie Pantelas. She is survived by sisters Madge Price, Erma Lee McClain, Jeanie Ashley and Vallerie Conley. And survived by brothers Herman McKown Jr., Gary McKown and Wayne McKown. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all. Services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 4:00 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home with Father Dan Rogich officiating. Calling hours will be prior to the services from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Mom asked that contributions be made to the youth organization of our church.
