IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Vance
Belden
March 25, 1942 – December 7, 2025
Barbara V. Belden, age 83, of Tequesta, Florida, formerly of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. She was born on March 25, 1942, in North Canton, Ohio.
Barbara lived a life defined by grace, generosity, and genuine warmth. She married the love of her life, Henry S. "Chic" IV in 1960, and they shared 65 years of devotion, partnership, and enduring companionship. Their life together was one of deep connection, mutual respect, and countless shared adventures.
Barbara had a lifelong love of travel, embracing each journey – near or far – with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a joyful spirit. She and Chic traveled from Irian Jaya to the Himalayas, and most places in between, with family and dear friends to spend time with wild animals and native tribes. She was especially proud of the Custom Adventure Travel business that she built with her friends through which she helped others create unique, memorable journeys, while sharing her own passion for exploring the world.
At home, whether in Canton, Grand Cayman, Bend, Terrebonne, Marathon, or Tequesta, Barbara was known as a truly wonderful cook whose meals brought comfort, celebration, and togetherness. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and welcome, where friends and family gathered around her table to enjoy her food, her laughter, and her easy, genuine hospitality.
Barbara also dedicated much of her time to volunteering and supporting various charities, quietly giving of herself to help others and strengthen her community. Her kindness was steady and sincere – never showy, always heartfelt.
Barbara was preceded by her parents Ralph and Marge and is survived by her devoted husband Henry S. "Chic" Belden IV, and their children, Steve (Susan) of Tequesta, Florida, Henry S. V (Cindy) of Eugene, Oregon, and George W. (Debbie) of Olympia, Washington and loving sister Kathy (Shelly) Arkow.
