Barbara S. Bahr, age 78 of Canton, passed away Thursday morning, August 5, 2021 in the Gables of Canton. She was born June 29, 1943 in Columbus to Dr. Charles and Helene (Bladen) Schwartz.

Barbara graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and taught second grade in Columbus. She was an energetic, active and dedicated member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue and the Shaaray Torah Sisterhood. While living in New York, she worked to assist the Russian Jewish Resettlement program.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2014. Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Bahr of Uniontown; sister, Judith (Dwight) Scott of Boston; brother-in-law, James Widder; nieces, Karen (Kent Cleland) Widder, Debbie (Jose) Marques; great niece and nephews, Chloe, Nick, Dylan, and Larkin. Preceded in death by a sister, Susan Widder

Graveside funeral services will be Sunday, August 8 at 12:00 noon in Canton Hebrew Cemetery with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shaaray Toray Synagogue, Homestead Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
