Obituary

Aurelia Krugliak, age 92, of Canton passed away on Tuesday November 21, 2017 in the comfort of her home. She was born on October 6, 1925 in Canton to the late Vasile and Anna (Gravila) Christea, who immigrated from Rumania. Aurelia graduated from McKinley High School where she took first place is Ohio's NFL Extemporaneous speaker competition in 1943 and Prince of Peace oratory competition in 1943. At age 19 while in college, she used her public speaking skills to raise funds for the war effort when she was hired by the US Treasury Department as a prominent War Bond speaker ('Dollar a Year' girl). In 1944 and 1945 she toured throughout Ohio as a keynote speaker at large public events for business groups, factories, community and school groups. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Mrs. Krugliak was a teacher at McKinley High School.

Aurelia was the beloved wife of Samuel Krugliak, founder of Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty law firm. She was known to local audiences as a member of The Canton Players Guild preforming in productions in the 1950's. She continued her public speaking career at community events in the 1960's-1980's in Northern Ohio. She was active in leadership positions with organizations including: The Canton Women's Club, Canton Garden Club, Aultman Hospital Women's Board, Canton Board of Education, Hadassah, and with her husband established a scholarship endowment fund for Walsh University.

Preceded in death by her husband Samuel in 2003; she is survived by her children Barbara (Bernard) Brodsky of Chicago, IL, Betsy Krugliak of Warwick, RI, Seth (Corina) Krugliak of Beverly Hills, CA and Amanda Krugliak of Ann Arbor, MI; grandchildren Seth (Jude) Brodsky, Chance and Cordelia Brodsky, Drew (Ashley) Dixon and Adrienne Dixon, Stella and Lucca Krugliak, Ella and Bruno Ruderman; great-grandchildren Lev Brodsky, Amy, Kaitlin, Jax and Emily Dixon; and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Aurelia's Life will be held at her home, 3329 Yale Ave NW, Canton on Saturday December 2nd from 1-6 PM, hosted by her children. Memorials may be made to The Aurelia and Sam Krugliak Endowed Scholarship at Walsh University.
