Atleta Jane Smith, age 78, a resident of Wayside Farm Nursing Home in Peninsula, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Summa Western Reserve Hospital. She was born August 12, 1934 in Canton to Atlee and Mary (Eshelman) Smith. Jane attended Hartville Public Schools. She is survived by a sister, Ethel (Bill) Carver of Grosse Ile, Michigan; aunt, Esther (Eshelman) Young of Hartville; cousins Ralph F. Reiboldt, Ruth E. (Owen) Sturgill ; nephews, Tom (Debi) Carver, Ken (Jen) Carver; nieces, Sharon Walker and Julie Gazda; and special family at Wayside Farm, Dr. Loren & Becky Pool. She was preceded in death by sister, Catherine Walker and brother, Calvin Smith. Funeral services will be Wednesday 2:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville with Rev. Vern Hostetler officiating. Calling hours are one hour prior to the service (1-2:00 p.m.) Interment will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery.
