Ashley White Stumpf 1st Lt. Ashley White Stumpf, age 24, was killed in action on October 22, 2011 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Ashley was assigned to the 230th Brigade Support Battalion, 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team, North Carolina National Guard, Goldsboro, N.C., and served as a member of the Cultural Support Team attached to a Joint Special Operations Task Force in Afghanistan. She was born September 3, 1987 to Robert and Deborah (Miller) White, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mogadore and graduated from Marlington High School in 2005 and Kent State University in 2009. Ashley was a passionate runner and was a dedicated to her Physical Fitness Routines and was often able to outperform the men. She is survived by her husband, Jason to whom she was married in May 2011; her parents Robert and Deborah White; twin sister Brittany White of Alliance; brother and sister-in-law, Josh and Catherine White of Hagerstown, Maryland and their daughter whom Ashley adored, Evelyn; grandparents, Robert and Irene Miller of Marlboro, Ohio; Ronald and Rose White of Gilmer, Texas and countless other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. at Marlington High School, 10450 Moulin Ave., Alliance, Ohio 44601. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Mogadore, Ohio 44260 with Fr. Edward R Wieczorek and Fr. Thomas Dyer as Celebrants.
