Obituary

Arthur H. Maser, 76, of Uniontown, passed peacefully in his sleep to be eternally with our Lord on November 4, 2024. He was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on November 25, 1947, to the late Jethro and Emma (Cursan) Maser.

Art (aka Duke) was a 1966 graduate of United High School in Armagh, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating, Art proudly served his country in the United States Army for 4 years, achieving expert M-16 marksmanship in addition to service in the 10th Special Forces Group (Green Beret). After the military, he furthered his education at St. Francis College, Loretto, Pennsylvania where he obtained his bachelor's degree in business management.

Art worked for the Pennsylvania Electric Company (Penelec) for over 24 years, and for the State of Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, where he was Director of Human Resources.   Art often found himself as mediator between union and management issues where, due to his gift of negotiation, conflicts were often resolved with laughter rather than harsh words.

In his spare time, Art enjoyed antique cars and going to car shows and cruise-ins throughout Pennsylvania and later Ohio where he resided the last 22 years of his life.  Art was always ready with a car story which captivated those who gathered around his 57 T-bird, 70 Corvette or 38 Ford pickup truck for a funny and interesting story that only he could tell in his own special way.  In his later years, you could always find Art wearing his red Ford V8 ball cap with a picture of his pickup truck tucked inside, ready to show anyone who acknowledged his cap, and even sometimes those who didn't.  Finding and restoring Wheel Horse tractors was also a fun pastime he shared with his friend, Bob, which took them on many road trip adventures.

Art is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Vicki Maser, who has lost her best friend and soul mate.  Their peace and confidence is knowing that they will be reunited again in heaven.  Art is also survived by daughter, Amy; niece Marjorie Shaw (Shetler/Keith); and nephew Albert Keith.  Preceded in death are daughter, Renee; sister, Patricia Keith; and brother-in-law, Robert Keith; and many friends who he has blessed with his sensitivity and compassion throughout his lifetime.   May Art bring a smile to your face when you remember him.
