Arthur J. Martin, age 90, of Canton went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 30, 2024. He was born in Canton on October 7, 1933, to Arthur and Anna (Lakatos) Martin and is a graduate of Timken High School. Following high school, he worked as a brick mason, operating his own company for several years. Art then graduated from the newly founded Pensacola Bible Institute in their first class of 1968. In 1972 Art founded the 44th Street Baptist Church in his home which then grew to become Bible Believer's Baptist Church in 1977, a congregation he led for 43 years. One of Art's favorite ministries was "Street Preaching" throughout all of Canton, and passing out gospel tracts wherever he went.

Art is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Shirley in 2020; his sister Betty Ann. Survived by children Arthur Martin, James Martin, Lisa (Tim) Dombroski, and Bruce Martin; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be June 3, 2024, from 4-7 PM at Bible Believer's Baptist Church at 5360 East Center Drive and June 4 from 10 – 10:45 AM in the church. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM in the church with Pastor Andrew Decker officiating. Final resting place is Henry Warstler Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Missons Fund at Bible Believer's Baptist Church.
