Arlene "Maggie" Longwell, age 82, of Massillon died Tuesday morning in Amherst Meadows after an extended illness. Born in Cleveland, OH to the late Henry & Katherine (Fritch) Henning, she was retired from United Bank. Arlene was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Canton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leroy in 1987 and a brother Fred Henning. Survivors include a daughter: Kathleen Swonger of Canton. Sons: James (Kathy) Longwell of Massillon, Michael (Judy) Longwell of Canton, John Longwell (Rose) of California, and grandson Christopher (Lynn) Longwell whom they adopted as their son at a young age. Nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Sisters: Mildred (Phil) Baldwin of GA and Alice Picar of Cleveland also survive. Funeral service will be Saturday 10:30 a.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. with Pastor Kimberly A. Vaughn officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 6931 Arlington Rd.
