Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Chirumbolo, age 97 of Canton died Saturday evening in Aultman Hospital Compassionate Care Center after an extended illness. Tony was born in Canton to the late Bruno and Anna (Torcasio) Chirumbolo. An Army Veteran of WW II he was the retired owner of Chirumbolo's Service Station. Tony was a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish, American Legion Post # 44 and the D.A.V. In addition to his parents Tony was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Mary (DeGiralomo) Chirumbolo in January of this year. Also preceded by seven sisters and four brothers: Marian Ricci, Angeline Hughe, Bernadine Milano, Theresa Morris, Katherine Hockenberger, Eva Zirpolo, Virginia Haidet, Paul, Thomas, George and Valentino Chirumbolo. Tony is survived by two sisters and two brothers: Carmel Vance, Betty Rice (friend Bill Morris), Julius (Stella) and Frank (Polly) Chirumbolo. Brother-in-law: Ray Haidet, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in Little Flower Catholic Parish with Fr. Leo Wehrlin as officiant. A private entombment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Thursday in the Church from 12 Noon to 1:45 P.M.
