Anne Rosenberg Mestel Anne Mestel, age 99, died in Canton, Ohio on April 7, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry, son Sanders and sister Sheila (Kasper). She is survived by her children Paula Steinberg (Harvey) and Clifford, her grandchildren Brian, Mickey, Marty, Doug, Kim (Harker), Aaron and Michele (Steinberg) and her brother Sam Rosenberg. Anne was born in New York City on March 20, 1911 to Morris and Rose Rosenberg. Anne attended New York University and drove a Red Cross transport van during World War II. Anne and Harry Mestel moved to Canton, Ohio from New York City in 1938. Anne was a member of Temple Israel, past president of Hadassah and was active in Temple Israel Sisterhood and Brandeis University. Anne retired as office manager from Harry Mestel & Co. in 1993. In 2003 Anne and Harry celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The family wishes to thank the staff of Windsor Medical Center for their compassion and kindness. There will be no calling hours and a private service will be held for the family.
