Anne Katz, age 94, of Canton, passed away on Sunday evening, May 29, 2016 peacefully in her home of many years. She was born in Cleveland on June 18, 1921 to the late Morris and Ida (Gordinsky) Weiner. She graduated from Lehman High School and married Edward Katz on October 18, 1942.

She was an executive secretary for the superintendent of Canton City Schools, for Canton attorneys and for several companies. She was an active member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue, Sisterhood, and sang in their choir for many years. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at preschools. She created customized patterns and made afghans for each of her grandchildren. Mostly, she instilled her love of music and positive energy to family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Edward; siblings Philip Wayner and Barbara (Arthur) Grasgreen. She is survived by her children Jeff (Rudi) Katz of California, Judi (Al LeBarre) Koffman of South Euclid, Deena (Brian) Barrett of Cleveland Heights; grandchildren Hilary (Joe) Seitz of Alaska, Jessica (Hugh) Plitt of California, Joshua Koffman of California, Jori (George) Sisk of Illinois, Jamie Nuss of Nevada, Marissa (Emily Jones) Barrett of North Carolina, Ethan Barrett of Cleveland; great-grandchildren Taylor and Abbi Seitz, Elliana, Gabe and Jacob Plitt, Elliot and Eden Sisk; sisters-in-law Bettie Wayner and Eve Fishman of Cleveland; brother-in-law Joe Katz of Georgia; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 am at Arnold Funeral Home with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating. Final resting place is Canton Hebrew Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association.
