Anna M. Shaheen, passed away suddenly on Good Friday March 21, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born December 18, 1917 at Rochester, PA and just turned 90 years old. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1935 and attended Kent State University. She was an Elementary Teacher at the former Molly Stark. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, St. George Ladies' Society (sergeant at arms), Crusaders and Phoenician Auxiliary. She worked at the former Kobacker's Dept. Store. She was a caregiver to her mother for many years. Anna was a very loving and caring person; she will be missed by family, relatives, many friends and staff at Summit's Trace and Bethany Nursing Homes. Preceded in death by her parents, Moses D. and Selma (George) Shaheen; brothers Richard and John. She is survived by her three sisters Nellie S. Joseph of Canton, Bea S. McPherson of Hartville, Tess S. Azar of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers Charles D. Shaheen, David D. Shaheen both of Canton, and Robert A. Shaheen of Boca Raton, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1118 Cherry Ave, NE, Canton, OH 44704 with Rt. Rev. Fr. Joseph Cervo and Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen. The family will receive relatives and friends at St. George Church 9-11 AM on Wednesday March 26, church services following. Burial at North Lawn Cemetery.
