Anna Mae Hershberger, age 83, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 12, 2009. She was born August 22, 1925 in Canton, OH to the late John L. and Alta V. (Yoder) Sommers. She loved children, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Cornerstone Mennonite Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John; children Priscilla (Ralph) Jackson of MI; John (Jody) Hershberger of Hartville, Joe (Gayle) Hershberger of Mogadore, Elson (Michelle) Hershberger of Akron; 10 grandchildren, Emily and Patrick Jackson, Heather, Heidi and Jeffrey Hershberger, Abby (Nahum) Preston, Tessa and Carly Hershberger, and Katelyn and Seth Hershberger; 1 great-granddaughter Isabelle Preston; siblings Clyde Sommers of FL, Elson (Anna) Sommers of Coshocton County, OH, Vera Overholt of FL, Martha (Alvin) Gingerich of NC, Magdeline Detweiler of Hartville, Levi (Nora) Sommers of CO, Ruby (Aden) Miller of Canton, Rachel (Paul) Miller of Uniontown; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by a son Timothy Paul in 1990; brother George and sister Edna Sommers. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Cornerstone Mennonite Church, 1250 Edison St., NW, Uniontown, and one hour prior to services Thursday 10-11 AM. Funeral services are Thursday 11 AM at the church with Pastor Stan Grizzle officiating. Final resting place is Marlboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
