Renkert
November 15, 1932 – January 6, 2026
Ann was born Carol Ann Schumacher on November 15, 1932 to Howard and Margaret Schumacher of Hartville, OH. She was a graduate of Hathaway Brown School in Cleveland and attended Northwestern University where she recently celebrated 75 years membership of her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta. After college, Ann married the late Richard Davis (Dick) Raff Jr. Ann and Dick remained married until Dick's untimely passing in 1967. Ann later remarried to her devoted husband of 54 years, David P. Renkert.
Ann was a very active in the Canton community. She was a member of the Canton Women's Club, Canton Garden Club and, most notably, remained a member of the Aultman Hospital Women's Board for 55 Years. She also volunteered her time with many organizations throughout her life including decades with the Aultman Hospital gift shop. Ann was always generous with her time and she was always willing to help anyone in need without hesitation.
Ann enjoyed many activities throughout her life which included golf and tennis. She was quite accomplished at both winning several club and tournament championships along the way. Ann also enjoyed skiing and she even tried her hand at fly fishing! She loved to travel and was fortunate to be able to visit many foreign lands and experience many diverse cultures.
Ann was an outstanding cook, hostess, homemaker and mother to two boys. She was the epitome of warmth, grace, elegance and kindness. Her smile, her infectious laugh, and her witty sense of humor endeared her to all. Ann enjoyed every minute of her incredible 93 years. She was loved and revered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Margaret Schumacher, her husband Richard Davis Raff Jr., her sister Marilyn Shortridge (Schumacher), and son Richard Davis (R.D.) Raff III. She is survived by husband David Renkert, son Andrew Raff, nephew John Shortridge, niece Amy Shortridge, nephew William Browne and four grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of The Danbury of Massillon for the care and devotion that they showed to "Miss Ann" during her residency there.
Services for Ann are being arranged through Arnold Funeral Home and will be announced at a later date.
