Andrew M. "Matt" Owens, 62, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in Lafayette, LA on October 17, 1959, he attended Austin Community College and the University of Texas after serving in the Air Force. Matt worked as a surveyor before retiring in 2020. Golf, Guitar, coaching, and family were his main interests. Matt was a devoted husband and loving father. Those who knew him enjoyed his quick-witted sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Valerie; son, Austin; brother, Mark Owens; sister, Beth Gerdes (Paul); and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 19th in the Arnold & Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
