Andrew S. Kristy, 97, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2019. He was born and raised in Monessen, PA, but lived the majority of his adult life in Canton. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War Two, and was the radio operator on over 30 missions in the Pacific Theatre. After discharge, he graduated from University of Pittsburgh and began his career in education. He held various positions in Canton City Schools, including teacher, guidance counselor, and assistant principal at Lincoln High School, assistant principal at McKinley High School, and principal at both Souers Junior High School and Timken High School. He became Business Manager for the district, and served as interim superintendent for a year. He spent his later years travelling, tinkering around the house, watching Cleveland sports, and enriching the lives of his grandchildren.

Andy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Louise. He is survived by his children, Mark Kristy and Karen Kristy; and three grandchildren, Adam Wolf (Sumulida Luyi), Elissa Wolf (fiance Tarik Tosun), and Kimberlea Kristy.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services. Memorials may be made to Aultman Hospice Program.
