Amy Barns Sausman, age 87, of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening January 25, 2011 at the Canton Christian Home. She was born on July 1, 1923 in Oakmont, PA to the late Arthur and Mercena (Dible) Barns. Amy was an information operator with the Pennsylvania and Ohio Bell Phone Company and retired in 1978. She was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville. Amy was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Sausman Sr.. Survived by step-daughter Myra Fowler and her family of Georgia and by step-son Robert L. Sausman II and his family of Perry Township and Pennsylvania relatives. A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Joyce Schroer at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday February 3, 2011 in the North Canton Cemetery. A memorial service will also be held on April 30, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the organ fund of Paradise United Church of Christ, 619 E. Main St., Louisville, Ohio 44641.
