Obituary

Amanda (Troyer) Sommers

We are rejoicing with our mother as she entered into the presence of Jesus Thursday, December 16, 2021. She was born June 14, 1925 in Hartville to Menno and Nancy (Miller) Troyer.

She lived a long healthy life for 96 years until a brief battle with Covid.

A life resident of the Uniontown-Hartville area, she was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church. She loved volunteering at the Hartville Thrift Shoppe for over 30 years. Amanda cherished the hugs she got from her 26 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren and always had chocolate chip cookies tucked in the freezer for them.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon J. Sommers Sr.; grandsons Jason and Tyson Sommers, Rob Eklich, daughter-in-law Arlene Sommers.

Amanda is survived by 10 children, Ben and Marie Sommers of Hartville, Naomi and Wayne Hershberger of North Canton, Mose and Liz Sommers of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Vernon Jr. and Carol Sommers of Hartville, Marie Mullenix of Canton, Esther and Loren Sommers of Hartville, Kenny Sommers of Hartville, Nancy and Jim Killian of Austin, Texas, Cal and Cheryl Sommers of North Canton, Rosy and Tony Anderson of Hartville.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hartville Thrift Shoppe.

Due to Covid concerns funeral services are private for family with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
