Obituary

Amanda M. Otto, age 87, of North Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2014. She was born in Hartville, Ohio, on May 1, 1926, to the late Noah and Lydia (Miller) Beachy. Amanda was a talented seamstress who loved to knit and crochet and gave numerous quilts and crafts to her children and others throughout the years. She retired as a cashier from the Hartville Kitchen and was a long-time member of the Hartville Mennonite Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother who only wanted the best for those she loved. Survived by children Linda and Mike Devine of Dover, Wayne and Mariane of Canton, Ruth and Wyman Schlabach of North Canton, and Floyd and Nancy of Ravenna; granddaughter Olivia; siblings Nancy (Willis) Troyer, Dan (Ginni), Joe (Carol), Al (Martha), Mary (Dave) Wileman, Marti (Eli) Miller, sisters-in-law Mrs. Eli (Martha), Mrs. Vern (Erma), Mrs. Bert (Reba), Mrs. John (Dorothy), Ms. Amanda E. Otto, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Otto, Mrs. Dan (Ruth) Otto, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Abraham J. Otto on May 1, 1970, and by brothers Nelson, Eli, Ray, Vern, Bert, John, and Jonathon. Calling hours are Friday 4-7 p.m. and Saturday 10-11 a.m. at the Hartville Mennonite Church. Services are Saturday 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Henry Shrock officiating. Final resting place will be in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke's Lutheran Community for their loving care.
