Alvin W. Latta, age 69, of North Canton, passed away on Wednesday July 23, 2008.Born in Burr Oak, OH on June 1, 1939 to the late Edmund and Freda (McClelland) Latta, graduated from Lincoln H. S. and served four years in the Navy. He worked many years as an electronic technician. Alvin enjoyed operating amateur radio for 50 years being a member of AARL for more than 40 years. Survived by his wife of 45 years Dorthie (Collins); son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Laura Latta of East Rochester; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Charles Edgar of Akron; grandchildren Amanda, Emily and Zachary Latta; sisters Naomi Lavonne Hartzell of Canton, Dorothy Mae (Ronald) Duff of Strausburg, Karen (Guy) Cottrill of GA. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Casey Latta. Friends may call Sunday 4-7 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville and one hour prior to services Monday (10-11 AM). Funeral services will be Monday 11 AM in the funeral home with Hospice Chaplain Jim Scalf officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
